Vintage  Ivory Hair Comb with Climbing Roses  & Lace Carving

This is a superb vintage hair comb with intricate hand carved climbing roses and surrounded by lace.  There are three hand carved  rose cartouches and lone beautiful tapering teeth.  This is not elephant ivory ( I think) but more likely Walrus Ivory or the more rare Whale Ivory as most of these combs with made by sailors for their sweethearts back home as gifts and some of these were incredibly gifted.   This one  appears to have two different upper corners

But it might have broken or have been made that way since they were made by hand.  Either,  it is a striking example of it’s kind and it does not dimmish it in any way.
